I've lived most of my life in California, ever since I was about five or six to be exact. And in all, I lived in only about 3 different cities. I grew up in a tiny little town of "Los Banos" and at the time of me growing up there, I think there was a population of only about 25,000, if even that. From there, right after High School, I moved to Modesto with a long time buddy and got my first aparment together. Then after that, moved to a bigger town called "Fresno" for my "higher education" and ended up liking it here.
Now after a few years, well, I'm finally leaving this old town and moving on to bigger, badder things. The thing is, it's not a matter of simply packing up and moving to the next bigger town... oh, say... like Los Angeles or San Francisco. Instead, I'm skipping all that and taking a giant leap forward.... so far forward that I'll end up someewhere in Canada. Toronto to be exact! In a nutshell, I'm going from an "American citizen" to a Canadian.... aye.. (joke... hehehe).
With this new move essentially comes a new life. I'm leaving the comfortable life style that I know and nearly throwing it out the nearest window and waving goodbye. Can you imagine changing a life style, or even a train of thought that was built up for 30+ years, then all of a sudden, switching gears and starting all over.... and in a whole new country to boot!? Wow! I suppose it's never more true when they say, "Out with the old, in with the new". So, I'm selling things off... even the clothes off my back, though I'm sure no one wants my skid-marked boxers, paying off old bills, packing my bags and hitting the road! Wahoo!!! Roadtrip, here I come!! Yes, I'm hitting the road and will be driving across country and up into Canada by way of Niagra Falls. The trip itself will be about 4000 miles and a butt load of sight-seeing, dining, and dirty armpits.... YES!!!Even though I'm moving to a whole new country and will be living a whole new life style, experiencing a new way of thinking and thought, there's one thing for sure. Things change, places change and sometimes, even people change. But even when people change, when it's all said and done, when the last speck of dust has settled, and you look at the core beliefs and foundations of one's soul... or being, there's always something that remains the same, unchanging, unfettered, pulsating silently in the bask of oneself.... I will always be me.
Goodbye world! I'm off to Never, Never land!!
