I woke up Friday morning..(Black Friday), looked out the window and thought, nice. So the weather was gonna be a nice sunny looking day....although the air was crisp and pretty much chilly; which by the way, I really love. So anyhow, I was off from work on holiday, so I got up, made a pot of coffee, checked my email, rubbed my eyes and sipped my cup of joe while silently yawning my grogginess away. My plans for the day was to go out, battling the crowds and mass deluge of parked cars to check out any worthwhile presents for Christmas. Well..... I never made it that far. As I was pulling out from my apartment complex, all was smooth. Then I shifted into 2nd (my car is a stick-shift by the way), still, smooth, love my crappy car. Then shifted into 3rd gear at about 40 mph and then all of a sudden...... "Gneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!" I looked at my stick and thought, "Oh, I probably didn't shift it fully into gear", so I tried it again.....and.......... "Gneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!" Then I knew what happened. My freakin' 3rd gear went out!!!! Great!!! Just what I needed! And of all times, it had to happen during the holiday seasons!!!! But to be honest, I knew for about a year that my transmission was going out. It was just a matter of time. Well..........
So I drove the car as best as I could and ended up in front of Lithia Ford here in town. Lithia Ford happens to be a Huuuuuge auto dealership all across half of the US. Okay all you Chevy fans, you can start booing now and sticking your tongues out! Anyhow, I had no intention of getting a new car, but, somehow, at the end of the day, I drove out the lot with a new car! Well, it's not new-new as in "brand-new 2007" new. It's rather a new-used which I prefer anyhow. I don't like the idea of buying a brand new car...too much money, and not even worth it when you can get a new-used that is damn near new looking. In fact, the car I got is so new that it only has 24K miles on it. It even still has the manufacturers warranty and plus Lithia's 5 year warranty! If that isn't as good as "new", then I don't know what is. So what did I get? The first love of my life, besides Cheng(someone I know). In fact, maybe I should put Cheng 2nd. Hehehehe! I got myself a Mustang! Wahoooo!!! And just to show off my new love, here's a few pics of what it looks like.... except, mine is silver.
Wow! And this car is fast! Wheeeew! I seriously need to watch my speeding cause knowing me, I'll get a few tickets just pulling out of my apartment complex! So what happened to my other car? Well, I tried to trade it in as a small payment towards this new car but they refused to take it. Hehehehe! Apparently I drove around a hunk of junk. Now wait! It "wasn't" exactly a "hunk of junk"! It was in good shape, drove well. I really didn't have too many issues with it. I mean, besides the 3rd gear finally going out and a few other minor issues. But who doesn't have car issues right? All in all, it was time to retire that old car of mine. It lasted me a good handful of years, got me places without problems and never gave me any serious repair expenses. It was just.... tired and worn out with lots of miles on it.... 135,000+ to be exact. So now, as I type this, I have a "For Sale" sign on it. And believe it or not, I've already got a call about it. I'm selling it for $700. Yup, that's it! What a deal!!! Blue-Book price on it is about $890. I'm sure some dad will buy it for his kid as a starter car.
Now, as I'm looking back a few days, I'm wondering if I "really", "really" needed a new car. Hmmmmmm. Did I really, seriously "need" a new car, a moderately priced one at that? I mean, afterall, now I'm on a Ramen Noodle diet...and for the next 7 years at that. Well, the good thing is, I can cook the noodles in at least 100 different ways! That means, it would be at least 3 months before I would have to repeat the same cooked style.... which means, if I do my math right... 7 years to pay the car off, that's only 28 times I'd have to eat "boiled" noodles! Wahooo!!! Seeee, I've got it all planned out! Or, could I have simply kept my old tired car and keep up with the necessary repairs to keep it running? Hell No! I'll take and enjoy every bit of my new car, thank you very much! Oh and Cheng, you know, maybe "2nd" isn't all that bad right? Hehehehe! Well fellow readers, if I don't happen to post new articles from here on out, it only means Cheng must have strangled me. Good night folks!
