Posted On: 2006-05-30   $6 Freakin' Bagle!
Good Morning folks! Well, for me it's morning anyhow. I just got up, washed my face, made a pot of coffee and now eating some buttered croissants. I'm looking out the window right now and I see it's going to be a beautiful...and probably a hot day. At least it looks like there'll be a nice little breeze.

It's a Monday here, "Memorial Day", so I won't be doing anything much. Besides, I'm still sore from Saturday. I decided to get back into my old weight-lifting routine. I've neglected it for almost a year now and I'm feeling a little scrawny...hehehe. So I figured I'd hit the weights every other day at the least. It was about a week ago that I got back from my business trip to Disney World Florida. And man, I felt jet-lagged almost the whole week! It was exciting, but to be honest, I really don't think I'd go back. Well after all, I've never been one that was into amusement parks for some reason. Oh well, just call me weird.

Since we're on the subject of Disney, I might as well tell you some of my experiences. First thing I should mention is this; I WILL NEVER STAY AT ANOTHER BUENA VISTA HOTEL AGAIN! Yes, that's right! Why? You ask? Well, cuz I'm still pissed off about my $6.00 bagel!!! Yes, you heard right! $6.00 BAGEL!! Well, let me clarify. At that "3" star hotel, I bought a damn cup of small coffee...plain, no sugar, no cream, no flavoring of any kind and then got a small, dry, slice of bagel. And can you believe it! That went for over $6.00!! Actually, it was nearly $7.00!! And they wanted to charge me $2.00 for the freakin' cream cheese!!! I said, nope, I'll have it dry and crumbly and dip it in my bland tiny cup-of-joe, thank you very much. Jesus freakin' Christ!! You'd figure that at the least, we'd get a discount on breakfast if not free, or something better than a damn bagel and coffee! For a 3 star place, you'd figure they'd have something more than a bagel, something like "scrambled eggs", "bacon", "diced fruit"...in other words, a real sit-down place to have a hearty first meal of the day! But no! Instead, I was treated to a little "cantina" surrounded by what looked like iron bars over the window and "patio" tables & chairs outside its walls! AND $14.00 FOR A CHILLED SANDWICH THAT WOULD NORMALLY COST $3.95 AT ANY 7-11 STORE!! I'm sure it wasn't the clerks fault but I swear I gave her the most evil of evil-eyes anyone can give.....(hmmm, maybe that's why she charged me full price for a refill of coffee).

And wait, here's the best part about that hotel....our rooms. Let me briefly describe our first room, before I demanded that they move us into something better. If you could mentally picture this:
The Bed:
-The pillow case was one color, the sheets was another and the blankets were yet another.
-They were dingy looking and the mattress, hard as a rock!
The Bathroom
-Just slightly bigger than a normal closet
-Mold & rust on the base of the shower doors
-Shower leaked water all over the floor
-Toilet was made for a toddler
-Sink was outside the bathroom door..(If I had to take a shit, I would then have to touch the door knob with my dirty ass-wiping hand so I can get to the sink to "then" wash my hands....after I had already touched everything in the world with my shit-hands!!)
-The lights flickered as if I was in a B-rated horror flick
-No hooks to hang any clothes or anything!
The Balcony
-Balcony flooring had some ugly rubber matting
-Sliding doors were sealed shut....we couldn't go out onto it
-Sliding door handle was broken in two and screws coming loose
-Cobwebs decorating all 4 corners of the sliding door
Overall
-YUCK, BLEGH, HELL NO! NO THANK YOU!!

And did I mention this was suppose to be a 3 star hotel going for $200/night?! I'm positive I would have had better service and cleaner, nicer rooms in a motel6 for about $60 or less. Now that I got that horror story out of the way, I might as well lightly touch upon my experience at the "great" Disney World.

I suppose in a nutshell, Disney World was just..............fun. I mean, wasn't overly exciting, it definitely wasn't amazing and it was barely good enough for a one-time visit. I might sound like a boring person, but really, I did have a lot of fun, however, I'm the type where if I experience it once, there's no need to experience it again....well, when it comes to amusement parks that is. I think the best part was the Animal Kingdom. I must say, that was pleasing to the eyes and pretty cool seeing the different animals on the safari tour thingamajig. Epcot was a total disappointment. Well, not a "total" disappointment, but it wasn't nearly what I had expected. Although, the best part was hitting every "country" and trying out the beers for each. Hehehehe! I didn't get to hit MGM, which I really was looking forward to, but oh well.

All in all, I did have a lot of fun. Of course, I would go back if I had kids or my girlfriend wanted to, but for any other reason, I almost certainly wouldn't. Still, it was an experience I'm glad to have had and I'll be sure to make note of it in my life diary. Anyhow, I must get going, it's lunch time and besides, I need to go "enjoy" my bathroom with the "adult" toilet and a sink "inside" the bathroom. Until next article people................cheers!
