Ahhh, another article to be written. Hello folks out there in the world wide web! Recently I haven't been updating my site since I've been extremely tied up with 3 clients, plus work, school and don't forget the ever dreaded, god-awful homework! Bleeeegh! My latest project is working on a small website for some guy across the seas....literally. I think he's in Cambodia or somewhere to that nature. As well, the last few weeks, I've been using my 2 minutes of my spare time every day to study up on PHP and Mysql. Damn! This database stuff isn't a joke! Wheeeew! Well, alas, it's safe to say that I now know enough of PHP and Mysql to start creating my own custom scripts. God I'm a genious!! Oh, sorry. Who needs a semester's worth of teachings when you can simply stay up all night for 2 weeks and vegetate infront of the computer while pounding some new information into your overflowing brain! Ahhhhhhhhhh, oh the sweet, sweet God-sent coffee! Ode to you Mr. Columbia House and Mr. Folgers!

You know, I just recently decided to post my resume online.......of course I'm not gonna tell you where since I'm suppose to be an anonymous webmaster. But one day, I said, "Eh, what the hell. Let's see what kinds of jobs I can pick up". So I did........and this was about two weeks ago. Well, guess what? Since it's been posted, the count is now 120! Man that's alot! Eh? What's that you say? 120 what? Oh, um.......er, 120 times that it's come up in a search. But never mind that! The good news is, it's been looked at two whole entire times!! Wow! I'm just a perfect candidate for any job out there........GOD I FREAKIN' SUCK! Sorry about that once again, I just had to let off alittle steam. Yep, my resume has only been looked at twice. But then again, I suppose I gotta consider the fact that probably half the world has their resume in the same exact place that I do. And that anyone even looking at my resume would probably be a chance of a thousand to one. Competition baby, it's all about competition.....and right now I feel like I'm really getting pummeled! But it's okay, I can live off of Ramen noodles every day for lunch.......and dinner. Life is interesting isn't it? Hmmm, since we're on the subject of resumes, I guess I should update my 1995 resume to this year. That just might help.

The other day, I applied for this job in New York right. Of course, I didn't think much of it since it's on the other end of the good 'ol U.S., but nevertheless, I still applied. Well, a few days later, I get a call regarding that application. So I was thinking, "Oh wow! They must be interested if they took time to call me long distance". So I'm talking to them and one of the first questions they asked was, "Do you know Oracle and ASP.Net?". I said, "No. I didn't realize that it was prudent to this position. Will I be doing back-end work?". They said, "Oh not at all, but we prefer the applicant to be fluent in it". I said, "Well, it doesn't specify that in your requirements as a Flash Designer". Then they said, "Yes, we don't use Oracle and ASP.Net". Finally I asked, "Well why do you require it if you don't use it? And even if you did require it, even though you don't use it, then why don't you state that in your ad?". Then they said, "Well, Mr. Dreamer, it costs money for print you know". And then I said, "But if you had stated the requirements in the ad, it might have saved you more money compared to having to call each applicant long distance just to find out if they know about things that are not even relevant to the position!" At that, they simply hung up. Man, what did I say!? I tell ya, they don't know who they just lost. Oh well. Have you noticed as well that sometimes and especially in certain fields, there is that catch-22......"If you don't have experience, you can't get the job and if you don't have the job, you can't get experience". Isn't that a pile of dung?! And to make matters worse, requirements for a certain position are absolutely idiotic! I mean, I have to be a 4 year veteran of motor racing to get a position as a freakin' computer programmer.....well, maybe not to that extreme, but it might as well be! Just like that ding-bat from New York telling me I must be fluent in Oracle and ASP.Net even though they were only looking for a Flash designer and nothing more. Geeeez! Kids, take my advice. Learn everything you can possibly learn about anything! The smarter you are, the more money you'll make.......oh wait, well, the smarter you are, the better chance you'll have at getting yourself the job you want....
(but the other one is true too).
