I had the worst weekend of my life this past week! I could not believe it!! Again, it was one of those days where if something can go wrong, god damn it, it would! Geez!! First, I get to work late Friday morning because I was doing some research the night before pretty late.....no prob, I'm use to getting up early right. Noooooo, I sleep in 'til about 8:30 AM and somehow I didn't here my alarm clock go off at 7 AM. So once again, there I am rushing around trying to get my close on, bumping into things, making a bunch of clanging and banging and hoping I'm not waking up my room mate......which I do anyhow! So, I manage to ge to work only to discover that my shop-foreman hadn't arrived yet and already there was a butt load of clientele ready to be serviced. I asked around but nobody had seen him. So there I am, throwing a personal hissy-fit, cursing under my breath and telling myself that he is fired! But then, lo and behold, about 2 minutes later, he shows up! Come to find out, he had simply ran to take a client home. After that, later during the day, one of my employees screws up on a customer's vehicle and we run into some serious problems....which ultimately ends up with him being fired and us getting screwed up the pretty little rear of ours! Arrrrrrgh! Just that whole day, one thing or another went wrong or bad! And then, I come home after a long day at work, plug in my laptop and bam!! It won't boot!! I just wanted to cry and throw myself to the ground to never get up! To compound the problem, I had a party to attend to that Friday night but I couldn't because I absolutely had to get my laptop back up and running for the next morning! So I called and canceled my appearance at the party.......which made alot of people disappointed. And the girl that was throwing it said she's gonna beat me up when she sees me.....which I believe! So now I gotta walk around ready to duck behind the nearest bush if I ever see her. I just don't know how my computer could've crashed and burned! All I know is that I was missing my system.bak and it would not boot for the life of the thing.......which I wanted to end by chucking it at the nearest wall and mashing it into the carpet into a billion, gazillion little pieces and scattering the shreds into the northeast wind............Arrrrrrrgh!!!! BUT THERE WAS NO NORTHEAST WIND!! I HATE YOU MOTHER NATURE!! Well, so there I am, doing everything possible to retain my files, settings and programs.....but it was futile. Finally I had to concede and reinstall the OS and all the programs and settings and old copies of files that was about 15 years old......well, maybe not that long ago. So alas, it's 1:30 in the morning and the computer is back up and running.......for the most part. But I ended up losing alot of programs and softwares I had purchased by downloading; one of which includes my $900 program that I no longer have, including the receipt because it was in the form of an email.......which was in my comp........which got detroyed! (That reminds me, I must call them today and haggle with them about retaining a copy of that). Well, by the time I went to bed, it was nearing 2 in the morn, and I had to get up at 4:30 for work! Of course, I was afraid that I would end up getting up late once again..........which I did! So instead of making it to work at 5:30AM, I ended up getting there at about 6:30! But wait! That's not all! That's not the end to my devil-sent weekend! There I am, at work doing my computer crap that I normally do on a Saturday, and at the same time.....decided to see if I can continue getting my comp up to par by updating my BIOS and BAM!! I couldn't boot again!! So now instead of doing my work, I ended up trying to fix my comp problem.....again. Sigh! To make a long story short, I had the brilliant idea, (after I got home), to go back to HP.com and see if they had an option to download the original BIOS for my laptop.......which they did! From there, I managed to get my comp back on and finally.........almost up to par. And you know what? I'm beginning to really hate XP!
Anyhow, I had enough of thinking about it, time for a beer! I'm beginning to think I have a love-hate relationship with my laptop! And god! It's only about 2 years old! Well, I guess in computer standards, that's ancient. I suppose that saying about computers is more true now than ever........."You can't live with 'em, you can't live without 'em".
