Posted On: 2003-08-08   Who Was Jesus?
Who was Jesus? According to Christians, Jesus was the ultimate prophet, savior and the Son of God. According to Islam, Jesus was no more than a prophet. According to Buddhism, Jesus was classified as a mere mortal teacher inline with all other teachers. According to Athiests, Jesus was the figment of the imagination or if he did exist, was simply a revolutionary. Ultimately, everyone has their view. Whom can I say he is?

Again, these are simply my views but let me express them the best I know how. Jesus, was a figure that might have been a "supernatural" person; not meaning he was a ghost or ghoul of some sort. Instead, he was a figure that........at the same time as being a human being, was also one that transcended the embodiment of a human. If you wish, compare him to Rasputen, that is, if you believe in him. Jesus was no more than a person who was able to theoretically and mathmatically foretell the future. A person that applied logic in a time where logic was a fairytale. A person that beleived in the equality of man. A person that belonged to the future rather than that present.

But what of his ideas that he is the Son of God? Could it be possible that those words were no more than the rapid spread of gossip from his admirers? I would hardly say he himself proclaimed it if he was a man of logic and understanding. Instead, he was a man that happen to fit the ideologies of the "coming" Jew, even though those ideologies were not ready to be accepted by the majority of the Jewish people.

Finally, as time progressed and decades and centuries past, the stories and tales of his life evolved to that of a legend, a myth, a fairytale. So praytell, is Jesus himself the legends and myths............or, is he simply wrapped up in these same legends and myths? If you have an opinion, I'd love to hear it. Just hit the button below and say what you will. Until next time..........
